Grazers Inc.

When you take the gravel off of highway 283 and head west, you notice a sign along the side of the road which reads, "Grazers, raising happy cows." Set amongst the rolling hills of corn fields and cool season grasses is a cow/calf operation that has been a leader in utilizing heterosis since the 80's. In this picturesque scene, possibly driving the feed truck, you will find JD Anderson, the owner and operator.      

JD and his wife Linda do in fact raise happy cows. He takes exceptional care of them, and they in turn take care of him.  He strives to produce good looking bulls backed by performance and ultrasound data in a sound package without sacrificing the convenience a commercial cow man is after. The calves that don't make the cut for herd bulls or replacement heifers are put in the feed yard and sold on the Power Genetics grid, where most earn premiums through Cargill and branded programs. This achievement can be attributed to years of feeding cattle and selecting bulls to get the most out of the crossbred or hybrid breeding system.
